This animated film, starring the voice of Johnny Depp, is one with enough depth for adults to enjoy, and plenty of gags to keep kids entertained. Aussie Isla Fisher also lends her voice to the film.
Rango is the story of a lonely pet chameleon who is accidentally left behind in the Mojave desert. He comes upon a town called Dirt, which is suffering from a drought and under threat of corruption.
The wild west is brilliantly brought to life and the detailed CGI of the characters ups the animation ante. Rango also smartly references other Westerns like Deadwood and Chinatown.
The New Yorker said that “Though young children may enjoy it, the film is built for viewers of any age with a taste for joyful anarchy.”
