Set in England in the years leading up to the First World War, it follows the lives of the aristocratic Crawley family and their servants early in the reign of King George V. The series commences with the news of the sinking of the Titanic, an event that sets the story in motion. It also stars Hugh Bonneville (Mansfield Park, Iris).
